iPhone 3.0 feature roundup

Crap.  Looks like I’m going to have to think about upgrading to the 3G iPhone.  Don’t get me wrong…I really like the new features in 3.0.  That’s the problem.  One of the ones that I would really use–MMS–won’t be available for the original iPhone.  I have a little while to think about it and save up some money before it’s released..

That’s Just Dumb, Disney

Even though I paid to join D23, I was shocked when I saw the price of $75.  My logic was that if I bought all 4 issues of the magazine at the local Barnes & Noble, I would be spending $64, so the extra $11 didn’t seem that unreasonable to join the club.  So I joined.

But I was expecting some sort of “members-only” web site with exclusive information and stories.  Nope.  I was expecting cool merchandise.  Nope (unless, of course, you consider a $1,500 limited edition cel or an $850 pen or even a $25 baseball cap cool merchandise).  And who knows what the surprise gift will be.  I’m willing to bet that it’s going to be a pin.  Because Disney gives you a “limited edition” pin for everything, and they only cost about $.05 for them to make.  It certainly won’t be worth the extra $11.

I think I’m having a bit of buyer’s remorse.  Unless they drastically change what is offered to members or lower the price, I highly doubt that they’ll have a lot of renewals next year.
