Ubuntu Linux – Linux

If you go to Best Buy to buy Ubuntu for $20, and have the Geek Squad install it for $130, maybe you shouldn’t be installing a Linux operating system..

Two-time Cup champion Johnson says he’s for McCain

“I’d have to pick (John) McCain,” said Johnson, speaking at the National Press Club on Tuesday. “I think our core fan base, being Republicans like they are, that will be their first choice.”

Huh?  He’s choosing his President based on NASCAR fans?

Brilliant..

The dying art of the knuckleball

The dying art of the knuckleball – The Bonus – SI.com

Good article about the knuckleball.  I saw Wakefield and Steve Sparks pitch against each other in 1994 when Wakefield was with the Buffalo Bisons and Sparks was with the New Orleans Zephyrs (Go Z’s!).  I think I scored that game.  After everything gets out of storage, I’m going to have to dig out my scorebooks and see if I can find it.  It’s very rare that you get to see two knuckleballers pitch against each other in one game.

I also saw Charlie Hough pitch for the White Sox in 1992 when they were playing the Red Sox in the new Comisky Park.  He got rocked in the first inning though.  His knuckleball wasn’t on that day.  As I think back, that’s the game that my cousin Marc taught me how to score a baseball game.  I need to thank him for teaching me–I don’t think I ever did..

Digichrome–it appears that he used the same lens as you did in Italy.  Check out some of his other posts with his Italy shots (if you haven’t already).  I think you give him a good run for his money..

John McCain Doesn’t Know How to Use a Computer

John McCain Doesn’t Know How to Use a Computer

WTF?  Really?  It’s 2008 and one of the men who could be the leader of the United States doesn’t know how to use a computer?  He seems awfully proud of that fact.  More recently, McCain’s deputy e-campaign director Mark Soohoo said that McCain is “aware of the internet.”  Well, that’s good.  I wonder if he’s aware that the internet is transforming whole industries and the way that the world operates?

And his favorite movie from this year is “Viva Zapata”…wait…that’s from 1952!  What are the chances that he hasn’t seen a movie in years?  Yeah, he’s in touch with the American people.  I’m guessing he’s a fan of the status quo.  That’s what the US needs right now–somebody who can stay the course..
