Well, today was better.  I got to see Chris for a few minutes today (he and Melissa couldn’t stay long), and we caught up on things, which made me feel a lot better.

We went to Disney’s Hollywood Studios for Star Wars Weekend.  Not much to do, SWW-wise, but we did ride the Tower of Terror, Rock n’ Roller Coaster, Toy Story Mania (pretty cool!), and Star Tours,  ate lunch at the Commissary and then headed to Epcot.

At Epcot, we rode Spaceship Earth (not as bad as all the Disney geeks made it out to be), Living with the Land, Mission:Space, Journey Into Imagination and Soarin’.  We then ate at Mexico and I went off by myself to see the Epcot 25 exhibit in Innoventions.  Then I met up with the group afterwards and we went to Germany to wait for and watch Illuminations.  After Illuminations, we left and came back home.

We’re going to have another busy day tomorrow.  And I’m going to see Chris again, so that will be nice.

Today was certainly better than yesterday, but I still miss Tammy and Megan very much.  It will be good to get back to New Orleans and see their beautiful faces again..

Well, it’s the end of day 1 and I’m about to go to sleep.  But first, let me give a trip report so far:

We left New Orleans at 8:50 a.m. CDT.  We made a couple of stops for food and gas, and we arrived in Orlando around 7:15 p.m. EDT.  It was a pretty smooth drive and we made good time.

We arrived at the house, and the outside looks horrible.  The grass is all dead (apparently it hasn’t rained here in a while) and the pool is still cloudy.  I cleaned up the yard and weeded the gardens and turned on the sprinklers.  Quite honestly, I’m pretty depressed about coming back to this house.  I was hoping that it would be sold by now, but no luck.  This isn’t my house anymore.  And although it’s staged very nicely, it is reinforcing the fact that I’m out of place.

We were pretty hungry, and since there’s no entertainment at the house, we decided to go to the Boardwalk.  It was nice to get out and go to Disney for a while.  However, as soon as we got there, I started missing Tammy and Megan.  I started thinking about being there with them, and it made me sad that they weren’t here sharing this experience with me.

I’m starting to wonder if I should have made the trip at all, because I’m pretty depressed.  I pray that tomorrow is a better day because I’ll be at Disney and I’ll get to see Chris and Melissa again..
