  True but as the first commenter points out:

  I would expect nearly zero difference in performance given the same (or similar) hardware specs.

  So, are you considering building a hackintosh? I haven’t kept up with the progress so I don’t know what limitations there are.

  I’ve considered building one recently. It seems as if they’ve gotten it down to a science now. If I can build one for less than half the cost of a Mac Pro, it might be worth spending my time trying this.
