Smart move on their part, as is giving Professional grade software to college students. They’re making some interesting decisions to ensure their dominance–and I think these are good business decisions for them.  It’s funny that the EU sees this as complying with antitrust rules. All MS is doing is ensuring that their applications and OSs continue to be the default for everyone so there is no reason to switch to other programs or systems..

Yeah, it’s a shame. Microsoft makes some good products. If they’d just focus on that and stop worrying about lock in they’d still be a very successful company with much better goodwill.
